Testimonials

I’ve been to several therapists in my life, but there is no one quite like Meredith. I started going to Meredith as a member of her DBT skills group. When I had my initial intake with her, she shared some of her personal struggles she overcame that were similar to mine, and I knew I was meant to cross paths with her. Talking to someone who can relate adds a whole new level of comfort. At one point I was also a member of her Eating Disorder Group, which I told myself I would never attend because “’I was not sick enough.” Although I am no longer a part of her group, I continue to attend individual sessions with her.

Her care, concern, and when I need it, tough love, has helped me to make the progress I’ve made. Meredith’s calm demeanor has also helped me to overcome many obstacles I have faced, and she is able to help me talk about things I have avoided for years. Even when I shut down in session, she is patient and gently encourages me, while reminding me that she is always here for me to open up to. Another thing that has helped me ‘outside of session coaching’ that Meredith offers. Being able to send her a text and have her help me think of a skill to use in a time of stress has helped me tremendously. I can honestly say that Meredith is one person who has seen me at my lowest but has always been in my corner. I cannot imagine my life without her. As Meredith ends every session asking what I am grateful for, I want to tell you that I am forever grateful for Meredith

I never thought my life would look like it does now. I came to Meredith in a pretty bad place in life. I just received a pretty scary diagnosis and faced a world of problems. I put my trust in her. I kept showing up. Doing what she told me. Working the program and the exercises and tools she gave me. It worked. Meredith got me through. She was a steady hand guiding me through the most difficult time of my life. She was gentle and tough when she needed to be. Putting my trust in her was easily the best decision of my life. It CAN get better. Just show up (and keep showing up).

I reached out to Meredith O’Brien’s office in order to obtain help with overwhelming anxiety that had infiltrated its way into many aspects of my life.  From my very first interaction with Meredith over two years ago, I have been met with warmth and insightful support.  During the intake appointment, Meredith was calm and actively listened to my situation through many tears.  Her questions and comments were derived from things I had shared, so I knew she was walking alongside me throughout the appointment.  It has been this way ever since that day.

Since then, every appointment has been exponentially helpful.  Throughout my journey, and it truly has been a transformational process, Meredith has been in my corner – helping me navigate situations in all aspects of life: relationships, family, work, stress, and past trauma.  She connected me with my current psychiatrist and consistently pulls from her repertoire of skills to push me forward in the most healthy way.  Meredith’s feedback is consistently non-judgemental and her delivery is calm.  She has provided me with resources, books, theories, vocabulary, and strategies to manage my anxiety and methods to help me cope with potential issues.  I am more in tune with my body, both physically and mentally, in order to make wise, thoughtful decisions.   The tools that I have learned from Meredith have changed my life for the better.  I am able to be more present for my family, my friends, my colleagues, and for myself.  She is one of the most valued people in my life – and I am forever grateful for her therapy and guidance.

Whether you are looking to maintain positivity and balance in your life, or have feelings that are insurmountable, Meredith will help you.
